Jana Hunter
There’s no Home
Ok. This album has gotten WAY too much press. Whenever someone becomes the media darling for little reason they need to get called out. This sordid amalgamation of poorly written melodies and redundant robot lyrics sat in my car for months until it slowly grew on me. I soon loved it. Then I hated it again. Shelby calls this “music indie chicks like to get fucked by.” That may be true. But that still does not explain the churning in my lower intestine. Pooh-pooh? Perhaps.

When someone writes a cowardly attack from the safety of a typewriter they need to get called out. I'd love to see this writer walk up to Jana Hunter and say this to her verbatim. He wouldn't because it's nothing more than a hollow mean spirited attack.
This is exactly the kind of writing I find most objectionable. It is nothing more than a uninformative hatchet job. Why? Well I ask you where is there any discussion of the music in any form that is in any way informative? There is nothing wrong with a bad review only a poorly written review. This falls under the latter and I can honestly say that I am ashamed to see this posted here.
I for one find this to be one of the best albums to have been released this year. Note that I didn't qualify it with the word "local". Yes I mean on of the best albums to have been released this year PERIOD.
"Poorly written melodies" and "redundant robot lyrics" sounds like a discussion of the music to me. Jana must be a friend of yours. Typical montrose cronyism.
