The Dirty Blues of Scott Biram
By David H.
I think, when most people think of a White guy playing the blues, the thought of Eric Clapton, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, or John Mayer come to mind. And while that slick sound that they all convey is great, I like my blues dirty. So, when I think of a White guy playing the blues, I think of fellow Texan Scott H. Biram. His mix of blues, country, rockabilly, and old world spirituals set him apart from the usual fare that breezes through town. And his one man band live show is definitely a sight to be seen in person.
Luckily for you, Biram will be stomping on his porch board, electrifying his 59’ Gibson ES-125, and channeling devilish sounds from a distorted microphone downstairs at Fitzgerald’s Saturday, the 12th. Yeah, it’s a Saturday night; but your usual haunts will still be there next weekend, so you have no excuse not to miss an immensely great show. Come see the one man band torch get passed from Jimmy Reed to Biram, come hear songs from his award winning album, “Bad Ingredients”, and grab your spot in “The First Church of Ultimate Fanaticism” as Biram proves why artists like Shooter Jennings and Hank III are big fans.
Get there early to catch We Were Wolves kick things off as only they can. Doors are at 8:00.
