Foo Fighters live in 3D in Houston, TX!
Foo Fighters could quite possibly be the last of the greatest rock bands to ever exist. Dave Grohl and the boys are giving the world a run for their ear drums. The band just recently had their world premiere in Austin’s own SXSW with their first documentary “Foo Fighters: Back and Forth” along with playing a pop up show that surprised the city by playing a secret show at Stubb’s which holds an estimated 1,800 capacitation as well as small secret shows in Los Angeles clubs. Very special for a band that travels the world playing inside stadiums!
As if Foo Fighters gave you enough excitement they’ve got one more trick up their sleeve for their fans. Tuesday, April 5th the band will be playing another pop up show where you are invited! Selected theaters across the United States are participating in this rare rock n’ roll moment. Luckily for Houston, Rave Motion Picture’s York Town 15 will play host for the band! The theater will be showing their documentary and broadcasting a live show after the film. Here’s the cool part! The concert will be in 3 effin’ D! I’m not a fan of 3-D, but who doesn’t want to get some raw in-your-face Foo Fightin’ action?!? The band will be performing their latest record “Wasting Light” in it’s entirety. Don’t think that’s where it ends either. I have no concrete facts, but from the set lists of these other pop up shows, they’ve been playing their old classics as well. Very cool. “Wasting Light” will hit the streets April 12th so be sure to run to Cactus Records and pick one up. Yes, Cactus Records, because they are one CLUTCH record shop! The whole event will be 3 hours long. So my question is, while I am in my seat kicking it back drinking my pop and eating popcorn while wearing my 3-D shades, may I say that this is my 3rd time to see Foo Fighters live?
