Calling all artists! The Aurora Picture Show and The Menil Collection are offering you a super cool way to display your art images, videos or films on a wall of the Menil facade, through a projector. They ask you to ‘Bring Your Own Beamer’, by beamer they mean projector, to display your piece in a 20 minute time slot, depending on demand.
This event is the brain child of Rafael Rozendaal from NYC. The first BYOB event was held in Berlin and is now internationally known. Several BYOB events have popped up since 2024 and The Aurora Picture Show and The Menil Collection are bringing this unique opportunity to local artists.
For those of you that are not artists, you can enjoy an evening of local art. This event is free to the public and they encourage you bring your picnic blanket and food, or you can purchase bites from The Whole Foods Market food truck that will be on site. This event is family friendly, so grab the whole gang and enjoy some local art on the beautiful Menil lawn.
