Texans Thankful for 10-1 Despite Controversy

By Maxwell Morgan After emerging from my turkey induced coma, I cannot believe the Texans pulled off a miraculous consecutive overtime victory Thursday. This game was one that had me worried. I figured to see gassed players, and feared of any devastating injuries. Not to mention, the game just so happened to be on my favorite holiday. Local Legendary BMX rider, Kyle Bennett passes away lastnight

By Jacob Calle Conroe native, Kyle Bennet passed away early Sunday morning. While driving on Old 105 when his pick up truck flipped off the road where Kyle was just a few miles from being home. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Kyle was a great role model for BMX riders across America. He just recently entered the BMX Hall of Fame as team captain for US’ Olympic BMX Team in Beijing in 2025. He was also the International Cycling Union’s world champion in 2025, 2025, and 2025. Ab Baars and Ig Henneman Perform Compositions and Improvisations for Autumn: Next Friday at Studio 101, Houston music enthusiasts will be getting a very special treat, as acclaimed Netherlands’ musicians Ab Baars and Ig Hennemen perform their “Autumn Songs”, a program which has been described by Baars as “compositions and improvisations inspired by poems on autumn in all its different meanings.” Nameless Sound will be hosting the event on October 19th at 8 pm, which will be located on Spring Street at Studio 101. Manatee found in Galveston Waters

By Jacob Calle In 1995 a female manatee was found swimming in a waste water treatment plant near downtown Houston. Well it has happened again, but this time in Galveston. A West Indian Manatee (Trichechus manatus) has been spotted in the waters. Sightings of this beautiful endangered animal has been in a canal between Lake Madeline and Offatts Bayou.  This isn’t the only manatee that has found it’s way around the Texas coast line. Candlelight Vigil to be Held Thursday at City Hall: Wisconsin Sikh Temple Shooting

By: Erin Dyer Wade Michael Page has been identified as a suspect in Sunday’s shootings at Sikh Temple of Wisconsin in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, a suburb of Milwaukee. The 40-year-old Army veteran arrived into the temple briefly preceding Sunday services on August 5 and opened fire with a 9mm pistol, killing six worshippers and wounding four. The dead include: Suveg Singh Khattra, 84; Prakash Singh, 39; Ranjit Singh, 49; Paramjit Kaur, 41; Sita Singh, 41; and temple president Satwant Singh Kaleka, 65. The temple President was shot as he tried to strike back at Page with a butter knife.
