Raymond A Leaks New Track

It seems like in the past three weeks, the name Roologic Records has been on the tips of our city’s tongues. Lead by Def. DJ, DJ Baby Roo, the label has made quite a dent in what’s been popping lately around town. With a roster that shows diversity with acts like Kyle Hubbard, Gabe Bravo, and Chelsea Mariah, this collective could be onto something bigger than the 713 area code. One of the acts that’s been gaining plenty of steam on their roster, is the lead MC of Def., Raymond A. Last year Raymond & Roo dropped the fire mixtape, “(The Unexpected)…” which really seemed to showcase how hard the rapper could go on a mic, and was easily one of the best surprises of 2024. As it turns out, Raymond is taking that momentum, and dropping an EP later this Summer, tentatively scheduled. While we all wait for it to come our way, Roologic offered up a leak to FPH, which we’re more than pleased to debut here, thus being the lead single off the EP, “Action.”
On the track, you immediately notice that Ray’s chops have gotten stronger since the mixtape last year. Where the bulk of “(The Unexpected)…” utilized more of an old school meets new school vibe, “Action” employs more of today’s hip hop scene. While Ray rhymes with the same intensity and flow, he’s reached out to fellow Roologic artist and art curator, Chelsea Mariah for the backing vocals and feature spot. The beats have more depth while Roo scratches in the background and Raymond brings his usual swagger. The advantage of this being the lead single, is that it has the feel of a late night drop top Summertime jam.
The track, found exclusively here, will be made available on all platforms when it drops alongside the song “Steer” Maxi-single available tomorrow. While you wait for Raymond’s EP to drop, give this track a jam and keep an eye out for this guy. Because when a hip hop artist can grow as fast as this guy is alongside sick mic flow, it’s only a matter of time before the rest of the world takes notice.
