Stop, Pop, and Shop
This holiday season, you’ve got a chance to support independent designers at the very First Annual Houston Holiday Pop Shop: Indie Craft Fair, Art and Music Festival. The event will be happening at Summer Street Studios, from 2 to 10pm on Black Friday (November 23rd), and the following Saturday, after Thanksgiving.
The event will feature nearly 50 different independent businesses, designers and artists offering contemporary, indie crafts in a much more stimulating environment than a stuffy old mall.
AvantGarden will be serving beer, wine and cocktails, and there is no admission fee.
You’ll be able to see live acts like Trio Musette, Hearts of Animals, Elaine Greer, and The Busy Kids, along with DJ sets by Reverberation and ADR. As the event gets closer, more bands will be announced.
You’ll be able to feast on treats provided by H-Town Streats, Good Dog, Happy Endings, and Porch Swing Desserts, right on the recently renovated patio of Summer Street.
Visual artists Justin Anville, Dual, Aimee Jones, Michael Rodriguez, TKNY, and Jason Villegas will have their work displayed inside during the event.
There will be a wide variety of independent designers, small businesses, and artists who will showcase their works in a unique marketplace setting. You’ll be able to buy records, cards, jewelry, zines, terrariums, and even vintage clothing.
Some of the venders include: Tin Roof Soap Company, Nano Fiction, Magpies & Peacocks, Lisa Chow, Cutthroat Records, and Lady Lazarus Press, just to name a few.
If shopping isn’t your bag, you are in good hands. There will be a man cave, and even Christmas themed activities to occupy your time, and making it almost impossible to leave empty handed.
Come out and support your a fun way to shop for the holidays!
