It should never be lost on you how hard some bands in Houston work.  For Houston’s Second Lovers it seems that hard work goes hand in hand with many reformations and speed bumps in the road.  That’s pretty much the backstory for the now, six piece alt country rock band.  Gearing up to finish their long awaited new album due next year, the band recorded a new song earlier in the year called “Hold On,” and they’ve just finished a new video for the song as well.

The video, depicting someone doing good for a homeless man really shows how one person can change another person’s life with a few small gestures.  Starting with spare change, a hot meal, and some clothes shopping at a thrift store, the almost four minute video shows what any one of us could do for those who call the streets of Houston home.  Complete with live footage of the band performing, things end with a “pay it forward” message that shouldn’t be lost on any of us during this holiday season.  The video can be found here, and it’s one that should make you think the next time you pass someone who lives on the streets.

You don’t have to watch this video to see Second Lovers perform live, as they’ll be at The Nightingale Room this Thursday, December 17th with Houston’s Race To The Moon.  The 21 & up show has doors at 7:00, and it’s 100% FREE.
