The end of summer calls for a celebration! Wesley Community Center is planning their End of Summer Celebration taking place at Saint Arnold Brewing Company on Thursday, August 22nd.
The event will raise funds for the community center’s Early Learning Programs, Youth Development Programming, Senior and Social Services, Community Outreach and Economic Development services. Lady Bird Food Truck will be parked outside and have plenty of tasty bites for everyone! The event will be a chance to network and learn about all that the organization does for the Houston community.
The Wesley Community Center was founded in 1904. In order to provide services and support for the numerous widows whose husbands had died working in rail yards, a women who belonged to First United Methodist Church of Houston established the program. The organization provides services for Houstonians living in poverty, bettering the lives of families that may otherwise lack access to anything more than minimal food and shelter.
To help raise awareness and funds for an organization that makes a lasting impact on underserved Houstonians, spend your Thursday evening enjoying eclectic brews and foods. Saint Arnold’s will offer six of their best brews on tap, house-made root beer, and even a tour of the brewery. The Junior Jazz Quartet will play tunes to keep the party going until the raffle tops off the night with a chance to win a variety of sports-themed prizes!
Regular price and VIP tickets are on sale online now!
