Victims of the 12/14/12 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting

Hands across Texas (HAT), an organization dedicated to helping fellow Texan communities with unforeseen life changes, reaches out to those that are in need to provide relief and help rebuild lives of those affected by unfortunate events.

Hands Across Texas will join Newtown Youth & Family Services, a 501(c)3 nonprofit group, in hosting a Sandy Hook Memorial Benefit Concert Saturday, January 27, from noon to 10pm at Papa’s Ice House in Spring, TX (314 Pruitt Road).

Every cent raised by the fundraiser will go directly to the Newtown Youth & Family Services, in consideration of the recent Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting last month. Anyone and everyone is invited and encouraged to attend this event featuring The NEW 93Q, barbeque, live music on two stages, a silent auction, raffle drawings, kids activities, and more.

BBQ meal menu consists of brisket, sausage, beans and potato salad, and will be served at $10 a plate (includes one meat, two sides) or $15 a plate (includes two meats, two sides). Sausage on a stick will be sold for $5, and pizza and hot dogs are on the menu as well!

Kids packages, offered at $10, will include choice of a hot dog or slice of pizza, with a drink and three TBA kids activities. Additional tickets for kids activities will be $2 each or three for $5.

Live music lineup consists of 18 live bands and includes:  DunVille, TreynWrek, Blue Sky, Sundance Head, Glen Bryant Band, Westernesse, Morgan McKay and the P & D Band, Southbound Saddle Bums, Pull Tabs, Erik Logan & The Roadhouse Ramblers, Daryl Bullinger w/David Allyn, Grace Spaulding, Jerrett Zoch, Jason Chapman, Ryan Collins, Josh Wager, Ray Sauter, Presley Lewis, Kevin Calahan, Douglas Reid, Jeremy Bankhead, Joel Ryan, Andrew Wade, Dewey Wayne, Susan Hickman, Mandi Powell, Annika w/Dave Carter, Kerry Kooken w/Damien, Bill Archer and Ceefor Ebrahimi; along with guest emcee Brad Bowman.

Go eat BBQ, like Texans were made to do– and do it for a good cause. All funds raised will directly benefit the Newtown community and aid in improving the healing process of the families, friends, and anyone affected by the horrific December shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
