Ugh. Valentine’s Day. Such a scam. How much did you pay for those roses? You waited too long to make reservations for dinner? Good luck. A card? You’re getting a card? You couldn’t think of that cheesy line yourself? You deserve Valentines Day.
For some of us, though, we’ve evolved out of that capitalistic invention, and are willing to approach Valentine’s Day (and love, for that matter), with a bit more of a modern irony. That’s why we are excited to announce that the next Rave to the Grave party is just around the corner, and the theme, while still Club Kid based, is Anti-Valentine’s Day.
So what does that mean for you? It means you get to have fun coming up with really outrageous costumes, dust off your dancing shoes, and forget about going broke on Valentine’s Day, ‘cuz this thing is FREE!
The party menu for the evening promises to be a highly entertaining affair. You’ll find your own personal Jesus with a Depeche Mode cover band (consisting of Austin Smith, Omar Afra, Chris Landry, Dylan Jamail, and Omar Al-Bochi), which will have you reaching out to touch faith. Take a trip back to the 80’s and 90’s with DJ sets by Cee Plus Bad Knives, and DJ Fredster. Max Xandaux put on such an inspiring display at the last party, that he’ll be returning to drag us all into Valentine’s day dance Hell!
Hosts Brooke Bechtel and Brandon West will be Emcee-ing this party, so get ready for something especially fabulous from that pair.
This Rave to the Grave has been titled “I Just Want to Be Loved,” where you are invited to “come dance, come drink, come hate love, love, and come find your next ex boyfriend or girlfriend.”
If you’ve been neglecting your party monster, it’s about time you let it out of the cage. The party is THIS SATURDAY NIGHT, and regardless of what you are doing, or where you’ll be, you really ought to find your way over to Fitzgerald’s for the party of the season. Costumes are encouraged, but not required, and for those of you going to see The xx, that show ends at 11, so there is no excuse for you to miss this (but we know you wont!).
