After running around Free Press Summer Festival last weekend, I’m sure the last thing you’re thinking about is more time on your feet. But what if this jog meant you could relive the Calvin Harris or Bassnectar show (almost)?
The Electric Run is coming to Houston on June 29th at Reliant Park. But don’t worry- you still have a few weeks to recover- or train- before embarking on the nighttime 5K.
During the run, you will ascend into another world with cosmic music and lights to guide your journey. Nationally renowned lighting designers and artists have designed a series of “lands” that will each transport runners through a unique environment. Some lands will be upbeat, while others will be dark and quiet, invoking a variety of moods. DJ’s will blast electro beats along the course to inspire running, walking and especially dancing along the track.
At the end of the 5K runners will show off their moves in an electronic dance party celebration. The Electric Run donates proceeds to different charities in each location that the run visits.
Participants should adorn themselves in anything neon, luminescent, or potentially extraterrestial. Think Electronic music festival.
Actress Carmen Electra hosted the first Electric run in Orange County. Vanessa Hudgens sported a neon polar bear costume during her gig hosting the run in Los Angeles. The festival continues to grow, and now travels to more than 45 locations across the nation.
All ages are welcome. Tickets are for sale online.
