If you’re 21 or older you’re in for an ice-cold, frothy treat. Houston Beer Fest is brewing up a full day of music, food and most importantly-beer. For those of you trying to burn those beer bellies, good luck. This event has more than 200 beers for you to taste, including an original beer made by No Label Brewing Co. just for the festival. Buy a VIP ticket and the beer list will become “beyond words.” Make sure you get there early because the beer will run out at 10 pm!
And if none of this fazes you, then perhaps you should grab your bar buds and sign up for The Tournament of Champions for a chance to win $500 in beer pong or $1000 in Flip Flip Flipadelphia.
When you’re not sipping on your Euro Pale Lager or American IPA, let the melodic vibrations of rappers and rock stars sooth your soul (or should I say stomach). This year’s lineup includes four stages featuring performers Reverend Horton Heat and Bun B.
Co-owner and marketing director at No Label Brewing Co. Jennifer Royo gives you a little taste of what is in store for you at Houston Beer Fest as they answer a few questions about the family-run brewery and the upcoming festival.
What was the best part about Houston beer Fest in the years that your team participated previously? What are you looking forward to most about being part of the festival this year?
I enjoy the size of the crowd, the amount of beer choices and food choices. They have different bands hopping on stage all day (a mix of different music is nice). I’m looking forward to talking with people at our booths and enjoying good beers!
How have you seen the festival develop?
The festival has definitely developed in a wonderful way. As a brewery, we have been to so many beer festivals and know what makes a beer festival work. They are always open to suggestions and feedback. I like that!
What should festival-goers most look forward to about the event?
BEER and a good variety of it! Also, the selection of food and music. The location is wonderful. We like being down in the heart of downtown Houston.
How much beer will you be serving and is there a variety?
We have many kegs we are bringing out. We will have our Mint IPA, Jalapeno Ale, Pale Horse Pale Ale, El Hefe Hefeweizen and 1st Street Blonde. We also have a special brew for HBF called the Rye Saison Storm Cellar!
How do you come up with your brews? How did you determine your brew for this beerfest?
We try to bring out beers that are unique, that you wouldn’t see often. We have a few seasonals we will showcase. All of our brewers work on receipes and come up with new ones.
Where can festival-goers find your beer on the grounds?
We will be in the main garden area and the Texas beer garden
Is there anything else you would like to say about your company or the beer festival approaching?
No Label is looking forward to the Houston Beer Fest and we can’t wait to bring a good selection of beers for attendees to try! We can’t wait!
