Come glimpse some unsettling, lo-fi, insanity at Domy
Friday night, Domy books will be screening Harmony Korine’s celebrated, underground, art film “Trash Humpers”. Normally movie titles are pretentious and misleading as to the real content but with “Trash Humpers” the title is fairly self-disclosing. The film follows the actions of masked vagrants who creep around at night in back alleys engaging in vandalism, debauchery, and sleeping out on the streets. It’s hard to describe beyond that but you can see a trailer here. The production is done in such a way to mimic the randomness and visual noise of VHS tape, something which only adds to the eccentricity. The effect is almost reminiscent of the ultra-violence committed by the “droogs” in Stanley Kubrick’s classic flim adaptation of “A Clockwork Orange”. It’s compelling stuff. Tickets can be purchased online for ten dollars and the event starts at nine, tomorrow night.
