Houston Zoo’s African Forest
By Jacob Calle
If you read Free Press Houston’s November issue with Brian Hill on the new upcoming exhibit then you know about the hard work that the zoo has created. I went and visited the new exhibit today and it is quite beautiful. I’m not sure if it’s a compliment to say that I felt like as if I were visiting a new zoo out of state. It’s unlike anything that the Houston Zoo has to offer. It was beautiful. A restaurant sits next to the giraffe exhibit so that you can watch them graze while you eat. There is also a giraffe feeding exhibit. The chimp’s exhibit seems to emulate the orangatan habitat, but on a much larger scale. The rhinos seem to be the dominant specie in this exhibit that they share with the kudo because everywhere the rhinos roamed the kudo would gallop off. Please go visit this new exhibit December 10th. You’ll be thanking yourself when you exit through the gift shop with a new African thumb piano. Trust me.
