With the exception of some good local band action there’s not a whole lot going on this weekend, at least nothing I’m interested in. The local stuff is always good but there’s no Gaga here this weekend. There’s no Robert Plant here this weekend. There’re no national/international acts to get excited about but, I’ll try to subdue my inner prick and give you everything anyway, even if it’s just the shake.

Starting on a high note, Friday night will see performances by Eastern Sea at Mango’s and Young Mammals‘ tour kickoff at Star Bar, which I might add, is free. Rud’s will be putting on another free show tonight with a handful of sold punk acts like The Hates. Besides Black Congress at Walter’s, Saturday night looks a wee bit bleak unless you’re a fan of Creed. On the other hand though Night Ranger and Great White will be at Moody Gardens which while not my first choice of show would probably still put Creed to shame. At least they’d be more fun anyway.

Sunday might just be the day to stay home though. John Mayer and the whiniest Ben Gibbard impersonator of all time (aka Adam Young aka Owl City) will both be playing a show at the Woodlands that is sure to be full of fourteen year old groupies and bad songwriting.
