Secret Mall: The Mall
Secret Mommy’s latest release is a 27 minute soundtrack to a Darren Aronofsky film that does not exist. These 8 tracks have no beginning nor do they have an end as they seamlessly transcend into the next without interruption.
The equation to the myriad mind of Andy Dixon has no solution. The Mall is a glitchy/cut/paste/copy/sample of consumerism in the most adoring way. Previous releases Dixon has recorded samples of recreational activities and dentistry. This time Dixon takes you on a tour of cashiers, elevators, children laughing, and sales associates trying to make you offers on the latest sale. Multi-talented artist, Andy Dixon has made gorgeous music to a place where we all fear the most. The shopping mall.
Andy Dixon is from Vancouver, Canada. Where to even begin with this character I have not own a clue. So lets just put it like this; amazing painter, owns a record label called Ache Records, guitarist for Red Light Sting, hella talented videographer, website designer, graphic designed t-shirts for Steve Aoki’s “Dim Mak Collection”, designed the DVD layout for my movie “What the Hell”, plays guitar also in D.B.S., Winning, and Healthy Students, put two albums out under Epidemic, also just recently put an album out under his own name.
Andy Dixon is what you would call a golden renaissance man. Give the guy a buck and he’ll buy a Dr. Pepper, but if you also give him a recorder he’ll make a song out of the bottle of Dr. Pepper. Slurp/ha-haaaaaaa/pssssssst/click/tkt-tkt/swish. Dixon is a true artist that challenges his talents and gives music a new definition. So thanks for always keeping us with our ears in empty glass cups up against your wall, because we never know what you’re going to do next.
