How to party like an organizer at SXSW!

My first year at SXSW when I saw At the Drive-in back in the 90’s it hardly looked like anything of what it is today. Then you could remember everything on a Post-It note and you’d be good for the weekend. Then evolution took it’s place and now SXSW has been smothered by the mainstream.  Hipsters are walking around with manilla folders with 20 pages of spread sheets that are filled with party info of where the bands and free beer are at. Wow, sounds like a head ache. Who has time to research these free parties and RSVP for the free beer and shwag? A few people have picked up on this time consuming job and is now providing SXSW attendees a site that provides every free/RSVP party. I’m not going to mention all, but one that really matters and that is SXSHHH. While some sites are charging $30-$40 to do all of your SX homework there is one particular site that is only charging $5 to view their site of over 200 events! It’s a simple black and white site  that allows you to click on the name of the event and it reveals who is playing along with if food and beer is provided.

With so many events, once you click on one it will turn grey showing that you’ve visited the event. From there there are buttons to add an event to your schedule and a link for RSVP. It’s very well organized and is for sure the organized way to party. I spoke with the founders of the site and there will be more in store for this great site along with more events updated as they are announced! Overall, it’s an amazing site. Why bother searching the net for all the parties when this is the one stop party shop? SXSW is not a one size fits all fest. So design your schedule here that fits you best! And that is exactly what this site is for. This will be the best $5 you’ll be spending that is anything related to SXSW. Enjoy!- Jacob Calle
